Join us at our next live training workshop where Joseph Gregor, Program Manager and Audit Expert for the Defense Contract Audit Agency’s (DCAA) small business program, will walk you through DCAA’s Accounting System requirements and give a working understanding of the terminology and explain the additional requirements placed on businesses who are federal contractors.


For accountants, small business owners, and executives, this session will help you understand why federal contractors invest in specialized accounting software that is designed to support federal contracting requirements for billing, costing and pricing, and reporting.


Here is what you will learn:


1. What is on the checklist for DCAA Compliance and what the checklist terms mean.

2. Common government contract accounting terminology with examples of how to classify costs as direct, indirect, unallowable.

3. That it is not the accounting software itself that’s “DCAA Compliant or DCAA Approved,” but how you show that you operate the system and understand the rules.

4. That you must complete timesheets daily if you are a federal contractor providing services that are billed by hours and costs.

5. What to look for in accounting software, plus examples of systems commonly used by federal contractors.

Chris brings more than 25 years’ experience in business development, capture and proposal management, process improvement, and training. For 7 Years Chris McKee led and supported AFCEA NOVA Small Business programing assisting over 3000 small business a year connect and win business. Chris possesses certifications and training in Shipley Associates Proposal Management and Writing, ITIL, PMI, and ISO 9001:2008. He has managed and won over 2 billion in commercial and government proposals for grants, contract work, and is a recognized thought leader in the capture and proposal industry. Chris McKee has held positions both managing and supporting Business Development and Proposal Operations, at VETS LLC, Hyperspring, LLC, Web World, Gray Matters, AceInfo Solutions, and SMS Data Products group, inc. He currently supports a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sector as a senior capture and proposal manager and develops strategic solutions for clients.  In his support of these companies, Chris is responsible in assisting full opportunity life cycle, including positioning to win through branding, marketing, BD, strategic teaming arrangements, and capture and proposal management activities. He helps companies, create winning proposals both the public and private sectors to pursue, position, recruit for, and win highly competitive procurements and grants in health care, legal services, civilian, Department of Defense (DoD), intelligence, aerospace, state and local government agencies.
